Long in the works, our partners at Counter Culture Coffee now have firm dates and opening events planned for their new Training Center outposts in Boston and Philadelphia. CCC Training Centers are community outposts for the Durham-based coffee roaster, where labs and seminars are held along with meet-ups, weekly public cuppings, and the occasional jovial throwdown. Sprudge.com is pleased as punch to offer you an exclusive first look at these events, and provide a little more info on what Illadelphians and Bostonians can expect once the TCs are up and running.

Philadelphia:

First up, Philadelphia. Followers of this website already know that CCC have had a strong presence in Philly for years, as anchored by flagship accounts like Ultimo Coffee, Lovers and Madmen, andย Odd Fellows.ย CCC’s new Training Center space there solidifies not only Counter Culture’s presence there, but Philly’s continued growth into one of the major coffee cities in North America.

Boston:

Featured a few weeks back in our running Build-Outs of Summer series, Counter Culture Boston’s TC is smack dab in the middle of Sommerville’s way-hip Union Square neighborhood. We can now reveal CCC Boston’s exact address – 374 Somerville Avenue, in Somerville, MA โ€“ and that their opening day is Saturday, September 15th, when they’ll be hosting an Open House from noon to 4 pm. Guests can meet the CCC Boston staff, cup, hang out for educational lectures, admire the Shepard Fairey mural outside, and who knows, maybe grab a little $100 foie gras happy hour at nearby Backbar.

We’ve got lots to learn about Boston, so maybe we’ll have to go there really soon for something cool. Stay tuned.
