New Yorkers, get thee to the Joe NYC Pro Shop [131 West 21st Street] on Friday, August 24th, when the cafe will be whimsically transformed into the a Handsome Coffee Roasters Manhattan pop-up. Your host is 2010 World Barista Champion Mike Phillips, who will be pulling multiple Handsome espressos on Joe NYC’s lovely Kees van der Westen Mirage machine, whilst offering a variety of single origin coffees via Aeropress and Hario V60. They’ve also got a public cupping scheduled for the next morning at 10am, to be led by Mr. Phillips, so long as he is not seduced into oblivion by New York City the night before.

On a personal note, it’s been way too long since we’ve been to New York, and we really miss it a lot. Even though it’s a hot, disgusting place right now, prone to freak summer rain storms and flooded subway stations, we still want to go to there. Enjoy living in New York if you’re lucky enough to do so, and say a little “oy” for Sprudge next time you just miss your train.
