For an astonishing fourth consecutive year, we’re very excited to present to you the latest edition of our seasonal feature series called “Build-Outs of Summer”, in which we profile new and exciting specialty coffee spaces under construction all around the world. Last year’s class of Build-Outs was the biggest ever, and this year we’re calling for submissions from cafes big and small from every corner of the globe.
Are you putting in long hours of construction towards a new cafe? Is your favorite roaster expanding to a new location? Are you preparing to serve coffee out of some sort of mobile unit, be it bicycle, sidecar, or antique stagecoach? This is an open call for our 2016 edition of Build-Outs of Summer.
Don’t hold back. This is your time. Click here to tell us more about your projects—we can’t wait to hear from you.
Past favorites from our heaving Build-Outs archives include an outdoor bike brew bar in Sitka, Alaska; La Colombe’s elegantly massive Fishtown cafe & restaurant in Philadelphia; fit-outs like Slater St Bench in Melbourne and The Coffee Lab in Canberra; Ceremony Coffee’s beautiful new bar in Baltimore; a super cool grocery store in Richmond, VA; a cute little truck scooting around Oakland; an incredible mural-clad garage chill zone in Bushwick; a beachy vision from Tel Aviv; a handmade bar on the island of Crete; a non-profit truck benefitting international refuges in Atlanta; Origin Coffee’s London flagship in Shoreditch; and dozens more, stretching all the way back to Summer 2012, when we profiled the then-new Everyman Espresso SoHo cafe.
