For over two decades, our family has used coffee as a catalyst for inspiring community, relationships, and adventures. We recently embarked on a new adventure—a brand refresh—and we’re excited to be selected as a 2024 Sprudge Design Awards Semi-Finalist to share it with you!
Inspired by our mission to “spread positive energy”, our new packaging aims to elevate coffee experiences while also being fun and approachable. We reimagined our branding while staying true to some core elements, like the magnified atom on the front of our bag, which may look like an abstract pattern at a quick glance. Our astronaut icon, representing our Space Cadet blend, is carried on beyond just this one coffee and has become a symbol of Atomic as a whole.
The label colors on our core blends have been selected to mirror Roast Level, with light roast blends being yellow, medium turquoise, and dark roasts purple.
And we intentionally chose to reduce the amount of information on the main coffee label, and added a QR code on the side of the bag. This allows the key information to shine through to the consumer, while also making the detailed info readily available for those who want to know Variety/ Elevation/ Processing, etc. It additionally gives us flexibility on the roasting and sourcing side—we can provide a consistent/ recognizable package even if we need to change out a blend component.
