We approached the redesign of our logo and bags as an opportunity to artistically incorporate elements of our local landscape, while creating packaging that would be eye-catching and convey a sense of simplicity and comfort.

Here in Laramie, Wyoming, USA, home of motive coffee, we have an abundance of sunshine and blue skies, so we made the bags sky blue to reflect the almost endless big sky afforded by our wide open spaces. Something else we have in abundance is wind, and the curved bars behind the mountains, which themselves surround and define our valley, simultaneously evoke a sense of the ever-moving air and the beautiful sunrise and sunset colors we often enjoy. We think our in-house design team hit the bullseye, with an assist from the amazing Alanna Munro for the typeface, in developing a design that is eye-catching, celebrates our sense of place, and calls to mind the inspiration that comes from enjoying your first sips of morning coffee while reflecting on the unbridled potential of what lies ahead.
