Wenbo Yang is on a heater. The 2023 US Brewers Cup Champion and 2024 Latte Art Champion continues to diversify his portfolio with a win at the 2026 US Roasters Championship. Taking place over the weekend at the Roastronix HQ in Houston, Texas, the US Roasters Championship brought together 24 competitors from across the United States for a whirlwind three days of green coffee evaluation, sample roasting, cupping, roast curving, and audience service.
Standing in his way were seasoned competitors like Tony Auger and 2017 Cup Tasters Champion Steve Cuevas, but ultimately it was Yang who prevailed, cementing himself as one of the most diversely talented competitors in the world of coffee competitions.
So without further ado, here are the results of the 2026 US Roasters Championship.
Champion: Wenbo Yang, Story Coffee
Runner-Up: Peter Shim, Olympia Coffee
Third Place: Alex Huang
4th: Steve Cuevas, Freelance Coffee Project
5th: Zachary Steele, Talavera Coffee
6th: Tony Auger, Goshen Coffee
Congratulations to all the Finalists!
