Last month, the US Coffee Championships governing body announced the return of the regional round of competition for four of the six events for the 2027, including the Barista Championship, Brewers Cup, Roasters Championship, and Cup Tasters. There was little information about how it would play out, but over the weekend, Coffee Champs gave a clearer picture of what to expect with the schedule announcement for the 2027 US Roasters Championship.
As promised, Roasters this year will feature two regional qualifying rounds, with the winners earning their way to a national event. The first qualifier, representing the South/Central regions, will take place September 3rd through 5th at the Roastronix HQ in Missouri City, just outside of Houston, Texas. Then later that month, the 24th through 26th, the Western regional event will be hosted by iFill in Washougal, Washington, just twenty minutes from Portland, Oregon.
The winners from these events will then head to the US Roasters Championship in December, to be held in Kona, Hawaii.

There are a total of 24 competitor spots available at each regional event, with a total of 18 competitors making it through to Nationals (nine from each regional).
Registration for the regionals takes place in waves. Registration for the South/Central regional opens Wednesday, August 12 th at 1:00pm CT; Western regionals opens Friday, August 14th at 1:00pm CT. Competitor tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
