It feels like just last week the Qualifying Event portion of the 2024 US Coffee Championships underway, and here we are, already nearing its end. There are not one but two Qualifying Events this weekend, after which we will know the complete roster of competitors for the national stage of the US Coffee Championships.

With Houston squarely in the rearview, we turn our attention now to the East Coast for two Qualifying Events that will take place concurrently. Both will take place in the greater Washington, DC area: on in DC proper and the other just north in Bethesda, Maryland.

First up is Bethesda. Taking place February 1st through 4th at AMP by Strathmore, the Bethesda event will host both the Brewers Cup and Latte Art Qualifiers. Meanwhile, crosstown at the DC Counter Culture Lab, the Coffee in Good Spirits Qualifying Event will be starting a day later, running from February 2nd through 4th.

And at the end of it all, every competitor for the 2024 US Coffee Championships will be known. The winners here will join the 60 coffee professionals from the Barista Championship, Cup Tasters, and Roasters Championship events that punched their tickets to nationals in Houston. That’s when the real fun starts.

If you are interested in attending either the Bethesda or DC Qualifying Events or if you’d like to volunteer, more information can be found via the US Coffee Championships website. Good luck to all competitors!
