The Balance Pro By Cocinare Wants To Be More Than Just A Coffee Scale

We’ve reached the point of having it too good as coffee people that we’re trying to figure out new features to add to the precision scale. Ultra-quick response time, readings down to a tenth of a gram, and a timer, these are probably all the necessities (and even that is using the term very loosely) for coffee brewing. But the heart wants what it wants, and often, the coffee heart wants new gadgets. With new features. Thus there is the Balance Pro. The new precision scale by Cocinare comes with a host of new that you probably don’t need but may very much want. And it’s live on Kickstarter now.

Standard features include things like real-time weight tracking, measurements to .05 grams, as well as a timer, all the brewing necessities. It’s also app-enabled, which some would also consider a necessity.

But with its other features, the Balance Pro attempts the difficult task of enticing users to enhance the scale’s utility in the home brew setup. It all begins with the ability to recognize the dripper you are using and auto-tare the weight. It also has the ability to discern the weight of the coffee added to the brewer and calculate the total water needed to achieve the desired ratio. The Balance Pro allows you to select the number of total pours in your brew and will then give real-time reminders that help manage your flow rate.

At retail, the Balance Pro is competitively priced (often cheaper) than other precision scales on the market at $149. Through the Kickstarter campaign, though, which has already met its goal, the price drops significantly. Current rewards include a Balance Pro for $75, 50% off the MSRP. Shipments are schedules to go out in March of 2026.

Before purchasing the Balance Pro, you have to ask yourself two questions. One, do you need a new scale, like really? And two, what does need have to do with anything? For more information or to back the campaign, visit the Balance Pro by Cocinare Kickstarter page.
