NEW YORK, NY — September 30, 2026 — Devoción, the Colombian-founded coffee roaster known for bringing green coffee from Bogotá to Brooklyn in as little as 10 days, has launched the Devoción Impact Fund. Since August of this year, the company has been directing 1% of every retail coffee bag sold in its cafés and online, across both its US and Colombian markets, to projects that support coffee producers, young people in New York City, and the ecosystems where its coffee is grown. Devoción expects the fund to generate approximately $50,000 in its first year alone; making a real difference to its beneficiaries.

The categories to which Devocion will allocate funds includes:

  • Coffee Producers at Origin: projects that directly benefit the coffee producers Devoción works with across Colombia.
  • Youth & Education: education and job training programs for young people in New York City through South Bronx United.
  • Ecological Restoration: restoration projects in the Colombian regions where Devoción sources its coffee, in partnership with local organizations.

The fund puts a permanent structure around work Devoción has been doing on a project by project basis for several years having already donated tens of thousands to these causes previously. These proceeds have helped fund needed items from partner farmers including tools such as fermentation tanks, coffee trees and pulping machines. Devoción has also planted over 1000 native trees, including 353 seedlings in the Sumapaz páramo with the Colombian nonprofit Cumbres Blancas, and has trained dozens of young adults through its Coffee Fellowship Program with South Bronx United, which pairs hands-on coffee training with career development and paid café experience.

“Devoción exists because of the people who grow our coffee, and we’ve always believed that relationship shouldn’t end at the price we pay for it,” said Steven Sutton, founder of Devoción. “For years we’ve done this one project at a time: a fermentation tank here, a few hundred native trees there. The Impact Fund ties that work to every bag we sell, so the more people that drink our coffee, the more that goes back to the women who grow it, the land it comes from, and the young people in our New York community.”

Devoción will update the Impact Dashboard quarterly with the projects the fund supports and the results they produce. Customers contribute automatically by purchasing any retail bag at Devoción’s six New York City cafés or online.

About Devoción
With a roasting facility and six cafés in New York City, NY-based Colombian coffee roaster Devoción is a game changer for coffee in the U.S. as the only true Origin-to-Cup roaster serving the “freshest coffee” available in this country. By flying in its direct trade, single-source beans via FedEx from Bogotá to NYC weekly for roasting in the brand’s flagship Williamsburg facility, Devoción goes from green-to-cup in as little as 10 days, light-years quicker than the industry norm of 6–12 months. In addition to the unprecedented fresh factor, it stands out in the U.S.’s extremely competitive and increasingly crowded specialty coffee market because of the singularly high quality of its beans, grown under the purest, most natural conditions in some of Colombia’s most isolated, often dangerous areas. Due to Devoción’s exclusive relationships with nearly 1,000 small farms throughout Colombia, it secures beans rarely available to any other company in the world. As a certified B Corp, Devoción’s relationships with its farmers are paramount to the brand’s success, leading the socially conscious company to pay a significant premium over fair trade prices and meaningfully reinvest in the communities from which it sources its coffee.
