The debut of Afghan Roots, a limited-time coffee cocktail celebrating Oakland Roots SC’s 6th Anniversary (August 30) and the birthday of co-founder Edreece Arghandiwal (August 31). Inspired by Arghandiwal’s Afghan heritage, Afghan Roots layers cultural ingredients with Italian coffee craft.
Base: Housemade grenadine (pomegranate juice syrup) infused with orange blossom + rose flower water
Espresso: Shot of Mr. Espresso’s oakwood-roasted espresso
Finish: Sparkling water, rose tea–infused whipped cream, vanilla, and a dusting of sumac + cinnamon
