Back in August, Sprudge.com brought you the world’s first look inside the brand new LA Arts District cafe from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. There was only so much we could show you then, photo-wise, as the cafe was still a few weeks out from opening, like a proverbial pie still cooling on the window sill. But now the world is ready to take a great big bite.
Stumptown LA officially opened to the public yesterday, September 10th, and our LA staff writer Julie Wolfson was among the very first through its doors. She brought along with her a photographer named Amparo Rios, of R.E. photography, whose work has appeared previously in the LA Times, LA Canvas Magazine, LAist, Eater LA, and KCET. Rios is a lifestyle photographer known for her passion for documenting specialty coffee spaces and community; this is her first shoot for Sprudge, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
It’s been a busy September so far for Stumptown, who also recently launched an $145 “Gesha Road Trip” coffee box set. It contains lovely original art and notes, plus gesha variety coffees grown at three of the most famous farms in the world: Guatemala Finca El Injerto, Honduras Finca El Puente, and Panama Hacienda Esmeralda. Pre-order is available now.
