Something is brewing in the land of the gator. This is two weeks in a row now we’ve featured a hot new cafe in Florida—last week it was over in Ft. Myers, and today we’re checking out Rutina Coffee in the trendy Edgewater neighborhood of Miami. We love the splashes of 1970s design featured throughout this cafe; put it big on your list for your next visit to the city.
As told to Sprudge by Emilio Irias.
For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?
Rutina Coffee is a Latino-owned, specialty coffee shop located at 2001 Biscayne Blvd, Miami (Edgewater). It officially opened in early June 2025 and quickly became known for its lively combination of quality coffee straight from their farm and music culture .
Can you tell us a bit about the new space?
Culture & Community
• Music & Events: Emphasizes youth culture and music, creating a fun, welcoming community space.
• Social Hub: More than just coffee—Rutina fosters conversations and cultural pride in the heart of Edgewater.
What’s your approach to coffee?
You’ll find a full spectrum—from classic espresso drinks (cortados, macchiatos) to pour-overs (Chemex, V60, French press) and creative cold brews like lavender, vanilla, cardamom, and nitro—all crafted intentionally to highlight bean characteristics.
Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?
Our coffee is aligned with La Marzocco equipment as we proudly represent the brand on our city. We use La Marzocco GB5S AV three-group commercial espresso machine with scales—two Mahlkönig Grind by Weight with Mahlkönig EK43 for methods.
How is your project considering sustainability?
Coffee growers with pride. From our family farms in Honduras to your cup in Miami, we grow, roast, and serve every bean with deep pride in our roots, our craft, and our people. All our coffees are 87pts and up as we work in bringing to our city the best our country has to offer when it comes to coffee.
What’s your hopeful target opening date/month?
We opened June 15th.
Thank you!
