SCA Expo is just around the corner and Cafe Imports is activating. Already they have announced a live podcast taping with fellow importers Royal Coffee and Atlas (and hosted by Cat & Cloud’s Chris Baca) as well as the return of the Legendary Coffee Exchange. But the fun doesn’t stop there, and now they are rolling out Expo’s Greatest Scavenger Hunt. Along with eight other yet-to-be-named brands, Cafe Imports is sending attendees looking for easter eggs, with rewards on the other side.
The scavenger hunt it meant to be a new way to engage at Expo. Most folks, whether they are an importer or roaster or barista or enthusiast, typically stick to their lane at one of the world’s largest coffee shows. But the scavenger hunt offers the opportunity to broaden your horizons and explore the full range of coffee entities presenting at Expo.
The rules are simple. Follow the starting clue to the first booth, where you will receive a clue card; the first 300 to do so will also receive a special lanyard to display all the pins you’re about to acquire. The clues for all the other booths will be provided on the event page the day before Expo. Then, while walking the show floor, solve as many of the clues as you can and visit the booths of the corresponding answers to collect pins. Once you have five or more pins, you can submit your collection via a QR code on your phone (which can also be found here).
Five or more pins earns you one raffle tickets, and collecting all nine pins gets you three. At the conclusion of Expo, three winners will be drawn for the raffle tickets, and “treasures” will be awarded. Here’s the first clue:
Expanding specialty coffee’s universe since 1993, let the neon guide you to where you need to be.
What does it mean? Who are the other eight brands participating? And what are these treasures they speak of? All will be revealed in due time to those industrious scavenger hunters. For more information, visit the Cafe Imports Expo’s Greatest Scavenger Hunt event page.
