If you squint you can see it just over the horizon. It’s the biggest event on the US coffee calendar, the SCA Expo. It’s taking place at the end of April in Houston, Texas and already some of the biggest names in the industry are rolling out activations happening in and around Expo. One such event is Source: A Green Coffee Buying Panel. Hosted by Cafe Imports, Source is a live podcast taping about all things coffee buying in today’s topsy-turvy market.
Taking place Saturday, April 26th at True Anomaly Brewing, Cafe Imports has invited fellow specialty coffee importers Atlas and Royal to take part in the live discussion, which will be moderated by Cat and Cloud’s Chris Baca. Panelists include Omar Herrera and Piero Cristiani of Cafe Imports, Susan Heller Evenson of Atlas Coffee, and Charlie Habegger of Royal Coffee. The four importer representatives and the roaster moderator will go deep on the coffee trade in a time when it is most in flux.
And for those unable to attend Source in person, the discussion will be released post-Expo as an episode of the Cat and Cloud Podcast, with both Cafe Imports and Cat and Cloud releasing video footage from the events via their various channels.
But for those at Expo who want to take in a chat on green coffee buying, Source is completely free to attend. It gets started at 8:30am, where coffee (natch) and breakfast tacos (because Texas) will be provided to all attendees. The panel will begin promptly at 8:45am and conclude at 10:00am, just in time for Expo to open less than a half-mile away. You can reserve you seat via Eventbrite.
It all gets going at 8:30am on Saturday, April 26th at True Anomaly Brewing in Houston, Texas. For more information, visit Cafe Imports official website.
