Some like drip coffee and others like coffee drip. (Please forgive me I’m old and not sure if I’m using that word properly.) Coffee is not just for your mouth anymore, you can wear it on your head, your torso, your wrist, and of course your feet. And the latest iteration of coffee sneakers, of which there is a long tradition, comes thanks to Todd Snyder and New Balance, who have created a new capsule inspired by the colors and flavors of coffee.
Known as the Coffee Pack (not to be confused with Nike’s 2021 capsule by the same name), the new colorways bring a caffeinated update to New Balance’s T500, a shoe with roots on the tennis court that has become a street staple. It comes in two colors, Espresso and Milk. Espresso features a brown “curling hairy suede” that is “a play on texture and color inspired by the ground beans and rising steam of a coffee shop.” It includes pebbled leather accents and a gum sole that gives the shoe a crema-like finish.
Milk draws inspiration from the lighter side of coffee. The cream-colored suede and a high-contrast dark brown gum sole. The shoes keep the coffee touches subtle, evoking more the idea of coffee than screaming about it.
Both colorways are currently available via Todd Snyder for $130, though the Espresso is moving fast.
So if you’re looking for a new pair of sneakers to wear during a bar shift that don’t look like they’ve been put through a bar shift, grab yourself a pair of Espresso New Balance T500s from the Coffee Pack.
