Back for its third installment, Bloom is coming to San Francisco July 26th through 28th. Presented by the Barista Guild of America, the three-day event will feature “a series of talks and panel discussions on the topics of Intersectionality, Coffee in Yemen, Natural Wine, and the emerging world of Specialty Convenience Coffee.”
Bloom San Francisco kicks off Wednesday the 26th with an opening meet and greet at Intelligentsia’s newly-opened Bay Area roastery before transitioning over to The Pearl event space on Thursday for the talks and discussions. Day Two will revolved around “Fast, Cheap, Good: Pic 2 – Specialty Convenience Coffee,” a panel moderated by Wrecking Ball Coffee’s Nicholas Cho discussing a growing trend in specialty coffee toward ease and convenience. Included on the panel will be Jen Apodaca of Royal Coffee, Kent Sheridan of instant coffee manufacturer Viola Coffee, and Tony “Tonx” Konecny of Yes Plz.
Talks for this edition of Bloom will include a BGA/Boss Barista collaboration led by Boss Baristi Jasper Wilde and Ashley Rodriguez, a look at natural wine from winemaker Martha Stoumen, and an examination of Yemeni coffee by Mokhtar Alkhanshali of Port of Mokha.
Tickets for Bloom San Francisco are now available. Single tickets cost $120. Group discounts ($95 per ticket) are available for parties of four or more. And if the Bay Area is a bit too far of a journey, as with previous iterations, Bloom satellite events will be happening all around the country where a video livestream of the San Francisco event can be watched. For more information on Bloom and the satellite events (or if you want to host one of the satellite events), visit their official website.
