World Of Coffee And The World Roasters Championship Are Heading To New Orleans In 2027

The US leg of the Specialty Coffee Assocoation’s World of Coffee event series is just a few short weeks away in San Diego, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start looking at to 2027. And the SCA has made it pretty easy to do, like big easy, with the announcement that World of Coffee is heading to New Orleans, Louisiana next year and it will be bringing with it the 2027 World Roasters Championship.

It almost feels too soon, the last World Roaster’s Championship taking place just 300 miles west in Houston less than a year ago. Separating the two events is the 2026 championship, which will be this June in Brussels. Nonetheless, Roasters and the World of Coffee are returning South.

With the focus still being on the upcoming World of Coffee San Diego, little is known about WoC New Orleans, including the venue. What we do know is that it will take place Friday, April 9th through Sunday, April 11th, with more details to be released after WoC San Diego.

SCA CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos states: “Bringing the global specialty coffee industry together in this way reflects the core of the Specialty Coffee Association’s work, acting as a catalyst for progress, connection, and excellence across the specialty coffee value system. By hosting World of Coffee and the World Coffee Roasting Championship together in New Orleans, we’re creating a powerful platform to elevate craft, unlock opportunity, and drive the industry forward through shared knowledge and innovation.”

This will be the second World of Coffee event to take place in the United States after it rebranded at the end of 2025 from Expo to better align with the rest of the SCA’s global trade shows.

So plan accordingly, by which I mean plan to head directly to Stein’s Deli for a sandwich (the Fernando, always the Fernando) and a shot at Whatever Coffee while you wait.
