As a coffee-inclined person on the internet, you are no doubt at least aware of the name James Hoffmann. The World Barista Champion, author, owner of Square Mile Coffee, and perennial Sprudgie nominee (and frequent winner) is perhaps best known for his YouTube channel, where Hoffmann reviews coffee products, gives tips on brewing techniques, and take deep dives into a variety of coffee-related topics, all to the enjoyment of his one million-plus followers. He’s inarguably one of the biggest coffee celebrities on the internet, big enough to merit an explainer article on who, exactly, is James Hoffmann. I know James Hoffmann, you know James Hoffmann, but do you know Hames Joffmann?
That’s right, Hames Joffmann, your new favorite YouTube celebrity. Created roughly four months ago, HJ recuts Hoffmann’s YouTube videos into “unhelpful” summaries. Take for example, James Hoffmann’s weirdly popular Bripe review:
Now check out Hames Joffmann’s one-minute recut (because really, who needs eight whole minutes on a coffee freebasing tool):
You get the gist. Joffmann also has thoughts on cheese, carrots (six to be precise), and Brad. Hames Joffmann has already amassed 13,000 subscribers, whose 25 videos have already been viewed over 700,000 times, which is about .5% of Hoffmann’s total, not too shabby for a fairly new remix account. And yes, Hoffmann is aware of Joffmann.
So please, take a few minutes out of your busy day and enjoy the dulcet tones of Hames Joffmann, Jim Seven-Point-One, as they make less sense but more humor out of videos of one James Hoffmann.
