Coffee competitions have slowly begun to return to the United States. Back in April of this year, the 2022 US Coffee Championships took place in Boston and were a mix of new competitors and those who had previously qualified for the national stage of competition all the way back in late-2019/early-2020. But in 2023, the full competition circuit will be back in action with preliminary events being held across the country for all six events: Barista, Brewers Cup, Coffee in Good Spirits, Cup Tasters, Latte Art, and Roasters.

And yesterday, the US Coffee Championships announced the host cities and dates for the entire slate of 2023 Preliminary events.

Starting in August of this year, just one short month away, these events mark the first time in over two and a half years since the US has hosted any Preliminary or Qualifying-level event. A sum total of 27 competitions spread across 14 events in 12 different cities will take place between August 19th and October 30th of this year. There are two and seven competitions for each discipline: two for CIGS, three for Latte Art, four for Roasters, five for Cup Tasters, six for Brewers Cup, and seven for Barista.

The list of Preliminary Event dates, cities, host, and competitions is as follows:
