Bean For Bean: Go Fund Bean’s Mentorship Program Returns For 2022

After a successful beta test in 2021, Go Fund Bean’s mentorship program returns for 2022 and looks to have a much larger reach. Bean For Bean works to connect new coffee professionals across the country with seasoned veterans to explore aspects of the industry they may not otherwise have access to. And the 2022 program is now accepting applications.

For the beta run, which took began in May of last year and lasted for three months, Bean For Bean connected 15 coffee professionals with mentors from across the industry, including “shop owners, employees at SCA, coffee equipment techs, green coffee buyers, and more,” per the press release, with many of those relationships continuing on to this day, some six months after the official close of the program.

Now officially launched, Go Fund Bean will not be capping the number of people who can participate in Bean For Bean in 2022. This year’s program, which will double in length of last year’s, will continue operating primarily through one-on-one relationships between mentors and mentees, who “will be matched up based on interests and geographic proximity.” Each paired group will develop clear goals and milestones based upon the needs and wants of the mentee, and participants will also have access to a Discord group to connect with the rest of their cohorts.

Program leader Jenn Chen had this to say:

We learned a lot during our beta phase last summer and have incorporated the participants’ feedback into our official program. We’re excited to connect seasoned and new coffee professionals in all the fields that specialty coffee covers. From retail to education to communications, Bean for Bean offers professional guidance and development to coffee professionals who need it.

For those interested in participating in Bean For Bean, either as a mentor or mentee, can apply now through Sunday, January 23rd via this link. For more information, visit Go Fund Bean’s official website.
