Go Fund Bean Creates Mentorship Opportunities With Bean To Bean

bean to bean bean to bean

Making a career in coffee can be challenging. Even if you know that the coffee industry is where you want to be, navigating the career trajectory beyond the bar is a bit of a black box. How exactly do baristas move on to jobs as roasters, green buyers, in sales or tech, or any of the other avenues in the industry beyond making coffee? Thatโ€™s why our partners atย Go Fund Bean have created Bean to Bean, a new mentorship program designed to โ€œguide those who want to improve their skills or explore other parts of the industry.โ€

For the first round of Bean to Bean, Go Fund Bean is looking to pair up 20 individualsโ€”10 mentors and 10 menteesโ€”for three months of one-on-one training driven by โ€œclear goals and milestonesโ€ set the mentor and mentee. Each group will use mentorship software Qooper to track the goals they have set. Per Go Fund Bean Board Member and Spudge Editor at Large Jenn Chen:

There are many career paths one could take in coffee but itโ€™s been historically difficult to navigate and figure out. Iโ€™m excited for Bean to Bean because it aims to cover all parts of the industry. Through this structured program, seasoned coffee professionals are able to guide those who want to improve their skills or explore other parts of the industry.

Mentorships are scheduled to begin in May, and Go Fund Bean is currently in the process of seeking out mentors. If you are an experienced coffee professional and would like to be considered for one of the 10 mentor roles, you can apply to do so here, using the invite code 257898. Applications are open until Friday, April 9th. Mentee applications will then be available in the coming weeks.
