Joe Coffee Company

joe coffee lincoln center sprudge roaster's village

Joe Coffee: Lincoln Center —Summertime in New York City is an especially celebratory time—after a long winter and an all-too-short spring, the city transforms into an outdoor playground, bursting with the renewed energy of a community eager to reconnect. Designed to capture the unique spirit of the season, Lincoln Center is a juicy, dynamic coffee, perfect for summertime sipping. We’re proud to introduce this first-annual seasonal coffee in celebration of Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City, a festival which unites the community through the arts.

Especially delicious on ice, Lincoln Center is a washed lot from the Turihamwe women’s group in Ngozi, Burundi. This coffee’s quality shines through from the moment it’s ground, revealing florals, citrus, and brown sugar complexity. As you sip, it blossoms into something greater than the sum of its parts, with notes of ripe peach, tart tangerine, raspberry jam, and a grounding black tea bitterness to make the sweetness even more dynamic and memorable.

$1 from each bag of Lincoln Center sold will support Lincoln Center and Lincoln Center’s Young Artist Pipeline program in service of the next generation of artists and creators. The Young Artist Pipeline is a foundational arts training program for upper elementary and middle school students interested in developing craft and technique in a chosen art form, learning about the professional arts world, and potentially auditioning for and attending a screened arts high school. Pipeline seeks to address the opportunity gap that many students experience due to the prohibitive cost of training in the arts, and help create a sense of community and belonging at Lincoln Center.

Madcap Coffee Company

madcap reko ethiopia sprudge roaster's village

Madcap Coffee Company: Reko—One of Madcap’s most well-known single origin offerings gets its namesake from the Reko mountain and the Reko coffee washing station. In the Kochere district of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia, Reko mountain is a tall, thin peak whose name translates to “challenge,” referring to the arduous task of summiting the cliffs. The coffee producers here have adopted its symbolic value to refer to their challenge of cultivating and processing the best coffee in the region. The coffee here is marked by its floral, tea-like, and complex quality. Even among world-class coffees, Reko is the sparkling gem of washed Ethiopian flavor. 2024 marks our eleventh year purchasing Reko, with this season’s lot gifting us notes of lemon candy, juicy peach, and turbinado sugar.

Night Swim Coffee

night swim las guacamayas natural sprudge roaster's village

Night Swim Coffee: Las Guacamayas – Natural—We Taste: Tropical Fruits, Caramel Cream, Syrupy This 100% Yellow Bourbon lot from Nehemias Pimentel and Hugo Pineda is a sundried, anaerobically fermented coffee. All coffee must go through some process that removes the seed (coffee bean) from the fruit (cherry-like) it resides in. Then the isolated seed undergoes some period of fermentation before it is cleaned up, dried out, and packed into bags for shipping to folks like us! A washed coffee is typically depulped mechanically and washed with clean water. A natural coffee is typically left in its fruit during the fermentation and drying process before being depulped mechanically.

The result of the anaerobic fermentation on this lot from Jutiapa is a sweet, fruity, and syrupy coffee that reminds us of tropical fruits and caramel cream.
