Can you feel it? There’s madness in the air. It’s a March Madness. And while for many people that means basketball, here at Sprudge it means one thing and one thing only: a bracket-style coffee showdown. It’s like a latte art throwdown, but without all the milk waste.
Now back for its fourth year, the Sprudge Bracketsprology™ pits 32 competitors against one another in a head-to-head battle until there is but one remaining. And this year we’re shaking things up a bit. There are two main divisions for the 2025 bracket in a battle of old versus new. On one side we’ve got coffee drinks, which have been a mainstay in all Bracketspology competitions of the past. And on the other we’ve got coffee influencers. It’s a changing landscape out there, and many folks introductions to coffee came via Instagram or YouTube or TikTok. And so we figured, why not make ’em battle it out for internet supremacy.
As in past years, voting will take place each day on the Sprudge Instagram. We’ll post a story for each of the day’s matchups and we’ll let the public decide the victor.
And already there are some interesting matchups to watch. I mean, Americano versus Canadiano in the First Round? That’s prescient. And what about Cold Brew vs. Flash Chill? These two have been duking it out for years, and now they can finally settle it in the court of public opinion. On the influencer side, keep an eye out for @WhereIsScottRao and the roaster bros pulling an upset over @Aramse and their gorgeous world of tutorial coffee videos. And can the lovely serenity of six seed @Pitchit89 outlast the latte artistry and all around goofy likability of 11 seed @Emstagrim? Only time will tell.
And I swear you to, if the Finals matchup ends up being a one seed battle of Espresso versus James Hoffmann we are never doing this ever again. No one can see your vote, so vote with your heart.
It’s all getting started later today over on the Sprudge Instagram with the first set of matchups. So make sure you stay locked in and root on your favorite coffee drink and/or personality to glory in the 2025 Sprudge Bracketsprology coffee tournament.
