Getting into wine is intimidating. There are so many regions and producers and grape varieties, the number of things you have to learn just to figure out what you DON’T know can seem insurmountable. And then figuring out how to pair wine with food. Eesh. Who’s got time for all that? Even with the new wave of natural wine producers—who put more of a focus on drinkability, frequently at a much lower price point—it can be enough to have some people saying, “I need a beer.”

But Compagnie Des Vins Surnaturels in New York City is looking to lessen that learning curve with their brand new Wine Bootcamp. Fun, educational, and only 50 minutes long, Wine Bootcamp is truly “High Intensity Interval Drinking.”

Taking place throughout the month of June, the “new kind of wine class” is a chance for folks to take their wine knowledge to the next level. Each class is small—only 16 people maximum—and will highlight a different wine topic, including Burgundy, Natural Wine, Champagne, and Sherry. Classes are led by one of Compagnie’s sommelier instructors, who will guide attendees through blind tastings, an executive summary, a Q&A, and an “unexpected food pairing” with one of the wines being tasted that class.

Tickets for Wine Bootcamp are $45 and include all wines and food pairings (but not the $4.56 Eventbrite service fee) and can be purchased here. Many of the classes have sold out already, so Compagnie has opened up a second time slot for select classes, which aren’t long for a sellout either. You need to buy tickets now is what I’m not so subtly trying to get at here. So why are you still here reading this? Go get those tickets!
