Next week, mass swaths of the coffee industry world will descend on Atlanta for a series of events, including the 2016 SCAA Event, 2016 Re:Co Symposium, and 2016 United States Barista Championship. We’ll be there covering it all—boy will we ever—but this year we’re getting involved in the revelry with some extra curricular activities, and you, dear Sprudge reader, are welcome to join us.
On the evening of Friday, April 15th we’re teaming up with our friends and partners at KitchenAid to throw a massive party, happening from 6pm to 9:30 at the M Rich Center for Creative Arts, located at 114 Martin Luther King Dr. SW in Atlanta, Georgia. This party is free and open to the public, and we’ve got some rad stuff planned, including:
A one-of-a-kind photo retrospective celebrating the past and present in American barista competitions. We’ll be sharing some of our favorite photos from Sprudge.com’s competition coverage archives, presented in glorious full-color display for your enjoyment.
A live taping of the Coffee Sprudgecast—Sprudge.com’s popular new podcast—featuring live interviews with Laila Willbur (2014 USBC Champion), Stephen Morrissey (2008 WBC Champion), Tyler Wells (Nice Coffee) and Felipe Croce (Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza).
A delicious assortment of coffees on the KitchenAid brew bar, featuring a very special roster of roasters alongside local beers, cocktails and snacks.
If you’ll be in Atlanta next week, we’d love for you to come celebrate the 2016 SCAA Event and 2016 US Barista Championship with us. And for our readers elsewhere in the world, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, where we’ll be sharing memorable moments from the event throughout the evening.
Party on! RSVP by e-mailing us here.
