What a weekend it was in Durham, North Carolina. The national stage of competition for three US Coffee Championships took place at The Fruit events space, where over 30 coffee professionals came in hopes of being crowned the winner of the Brewers Cup, Coffee in Good Spirits, and Latte Art Championships. And after three days of intense battle, the dust has settled and we now know the names of the three new champions.
They join Diego Guartan of Big Shoulders Coffee in Chicago, who was earlier this month crowned the 2025 US Roasters Champion, and will go on to represent the United States in their respective events at the 2025 World Coffee Championships taking place through the remainder of the year. And we’re just two weeks out from crowning the fifth champion, just down the road in Raleigh with the US Barista Championship taking place March 6–9, leaving only Cup Tasters to be decided (the date for that event is still TBD).
But before all that, let’s take a look at the winners and finalists from the US Brewers Cup, US Coffee in Good Spirits, and US Latte Art Championship that took place over the weekend.
