THE BARN Opens New Branch In Munich

Munich, 22 November 2024 – The Berlin coffee roastery THE BARN Coffee Roasters, known for its uncompromising quality and sustainable coffee culture, is pleased to announce the opening of its latest branch in the heart of Munich. From now on, coffee connoisseurs in the Bavarian capital will also be able to experience THE BARN’s award-winning speciality coffees.

The new location in Munich’s old town (Tal 15 / Hochbrückenstraße 4) was once again designed by Andreas Poulakidas from the in-house team. The design incorporates the typical core elements of THE BARN cafes: the raw oak reflects the natural elements of the coffee farms – the industrial stools are a nod to the artisanal production of the roastery. The clarity of the interior is inspired by the high-quality coffees for which the Berlin specialists are known. The warm colour scheme relaxes and offers a decelerating atmosphere in which coffee lovers from all over the world can enjoy their hand-brewed coffees. The ‘small space miracle’ offers space for 17 guests in just 22 square metres – in summer, the café doubles in size thanks to the outdoor areas.

 

In good company: the location was carefully chosen and is within walking distance of the Viktualienmarkt, the popular Cortiina and Mandarin Oriental hotels and the well-known Bar Centrale. THE BARN’s modern speciality coffee is an exciting alternative to the classic Italian coffee scene – both complement each other and thus offer residents and visitors to Munich a better range of choices.

The new branch will not only be a meeting place for coffee fans, but will also provide a space for regular coffee tastings and expert discussions on sustainability and quality in coffee production.

Highlights of the new opening:

• Freshly roasted coffee specialities: Each bean is carefully selected, purchased in direct collaboration with partner farms and freshly prepared on site. THE BARN offers only single-origin Arabica beans to inspire customers with clear taste profiles for terroir.
• Signature espresso and filter coffee: From classic flat whites to high-quality pour-overs, guests can look forward to a wide range of flavours. Particularly noteworthy is the Masterpiece series with rare beans such as the Geisha variety.
• Sustainability in focus: THE BARN relies on personal relationships with farms and pays well above market prices, while discussing ways to sustainably improve quality with producers. This is the only way to achieve true sustainability, both economically and environmentally. The café opened on 16 November 2024, in the tried and tested soft opening style. The official opening ceremony will take place at the end of January.
