At Rêve Coffee Lab in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, every last signature drink is created in-house by talented, creative baristas. The company hosts a signature drink competition for every season of the year with cash prizes to the top four. Fostering this kind of creativity results in delicious beverages—take the NOLA Egg Cream from barista Kylie Bihm. The drink takes the classic egg cream (seltzer, milk, chocolate) and steps it up a notch.
We spoke with Creative Director Carter Liles to learn more.
Tell us about your signature drink!
Our NOLA chicory cold brew, flavored with white and dark chocolates and house-made vanilla syrup, cold-frothed and topped with malt-infused cream and a splash of sparkling water, garnished with dark chocolate shavings and a fudge-filled wafer straw.

What unique ingredients does it contain?
Malt, house-roasted chicory coffee blend.
Is your signature drink served in a particular vessel? How did you make this choice?
It’s served in a pink Fortessa tableware beaded glass. We chose this for its beauty as well as its texture which resembles the bubbles of a soda.
