Marco Beverage Systems, a leading global provider in beverage solutions, launched “The SP9 Brew Master Challenge” in Australia at the start of October and have now announced the three coffee professionals who will judge the event happening on the 25th of November. They are leading experts in the Australian specialty coffee community, they will act as sensory and technical judges, assessing the competitors’ coffee knowledge, pour-over, and demonstration skills.
Demelza has been in coffee for about 15 years and has worked in a variety of roles across the industry. She has a passion for sharing knowledge and empowering women and all marginalised individuals and groups withing the coffee space.
She is currently a member of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance and of the Equality Project. She is an oat-milk aficionado and community builder at Califia Farms, and the Founder of SameCup. SameCup aims to highlight, connect and empower through various products, platforms & programs in coffee.
Nicole Novak lives in Perth and works with the awesome team at Five Senses Coffee as the WA State Sales Manager. She is a certified Q-Grader and World Brewers Cup judge.
As an ex-café owner, Nicole is passionate about the coffee community, including the representation of women and minority groups within it. She believes industry events are more than just the wonderful coffees served: they are about connection, support and empowering each other.
Harry Ko is as a Sample Roaster, QA & Sales Support at H.A.Bennetts and a Weekend Barista at The Flour Melbourne. He is also the 2015 and 2016 Australian Cup Tasters Champion and placed 8th in the World Brewers Cup in 2022.
The contest closes at 16.00 ACT on 31st October 2022 and the takes place on the 2nd of December in Victoria Arduino, Melbourne. Entrants must be legally resident in Australia and over 18 before 25th October 2022.
