It’s summer and in the coffee world that can mean only one thing. No, not cold brew. In this house we drink hot coffee all year round. I’m of course talking about the affogato, the iconic blend of ice cream and espresso. Hot and cold, syrupy and sugary sweet. It’s summertime perfection. La Marzocco knows this, and that’s why they are hosting Ice Cream Social, a summer event series built around the beloved affogato. It’ll be making multiple stops around the US and it kicks off early next month in Seattle.
For the event series, La Marzocco has teamed up with Swiss Water to pair with locally sourced gelato for what may be the world’s best ever decaf affogato. And for the inaugural Ice Cream Social, taking place July 9th at La Marzocco USA Headquarters in Seattle, they are bringing in a few other quaffs and tasty bites to sate all your thirsts. Gozney will be provided live-fire pizzas and Mineragua will have some sparkling beverages on hand as well.
And because this event is really about hanging out with the local community—the affogato is just the excuse—there will also be a few lawn games for attendees to enjoy with fellow coffee lovers.
After Seattle, the Ice Cream Social will be making stops on July 29th, August 6th, and then on August 26th. Location announcements for these dates to be made soon.
