The % Arabica just got a little bit higher. Japanese specialty coffee brand % Arabica has announced their move into the United Kingdom with not one but two London cafes.

Both opening on the same day—Friday, November 1st—the Kyoto-based coffee company (though technically the first location was in Hong Kong) will open cafes in East London’s Broadway Market as well as Covent Garden in the West End. The Broadway Market location will serve as the brand’s UK flagship, which will include their roasting facility. Per the press release, each location will continue in the % Arabica tradition by serving espresso drinks made with a customized Slayer espresso machine and filter options prepared via Chemex. Both stores will keep a “concise coffee menu,” offering their signature blend as well as a rotating list of single origins.

The new UK stores continue % Arabica’s global expansion. The brand currently has over 40 locations in 12 countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, including newly opened cafes in Paris and Berlin.. And they are just getting started. Per the press release, “by the end of 2019, % Arabica will open 20 more stores internationally with plans for an additional 50 new outlets in 2020″ that include stores in the United States, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.
