We’re in the dog days right, and that means that the Build-Outs of Coffee feature series is in full swing. One of our favorite things to feature are the small but mighty cafes, the mobile shops that take creativity to new levels in order to bring good coffee to wherever it is that they find themselves. We’ve seen coffee carts, horse trailers, even the side car of a motorcycle.

And thanks to a new collaboration, there’s now a cafe on a bike. La Marzocco has teamed up with Specialized for a one-of-a-kind mobile espresso system on the back of a bicycle (well, technically two of them).

La Marzocco and Specialized are no strangers to collaboration. The two brands previously worked together for a matching custom Linea Mini and Diverge bike as part of the Grind for Good campaign.  But that was more cosmetic. This time around, the two have integrated into a single coffee shop on wheels.

Designed and crafted at Officine Fratelli Bambi workshop, the new mobile coffee setup combines Specialized’s Turbo Porto cargo e-bike with La Marzocco’s latest and greatest in small footprint espresso equipment: the Linea Micra and the Pico grinder. “This mobile coffee system offers an unparalleled espresso experience, bringing the cafe to the streets in an environmentally friendly manner,” La Marzocco states in the press release.

Folks who attended World of Coffee in Copenhagen already got a look at the new mobile cafe as part of La Marzocco’s Out of the Box event. Where the e-bike cafe will be popping up next is anyone’s guess. That’s up to La Marzocco and the freedom that comes from having the wind in your hair.
