“What makes a king out of a slave? Courage Technology! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage Technology! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk? What makes the muskrat guard his musk? Courage Technology! What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage Technology! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage Technology! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the “ape” in apricot?”

What makes the Blossom One Limited cost $11,000? You guessed it. Technology! Mashable has deets:

advert new rules of coffee now available

A team of engineers who worked previously at Apple and at NASA designed the $11,000 coffeemaker that brews coffee at just the right temperature. Don’t start saving for your personal use, though — it’s not designed for the home at all. It’s intended for commercial use in cafes and restaurants.

This high tech machine, which is surprisingly smaller than I thought it would be, has a camera built in. That way, it can scan the QR code on the side of the bag of coffee beans that are being brewed, to determine just the right temperature to use for those beans. Coffee roasters can make their own custom recipes and the Blossom One will know just how to brew it to get the perfect taste.
