grind-on-demand

We’re winding down our new product coverage from Host 2013 in Milan – you can relive it all right here in our Host archives – with a look at some of the new innovations showcased by our friends and partners at UNIC, whose booth was popping off with events and cocktails all weekend long in Milan.

Like many European manufacturers, UNIC chose Host for a series of product rollouts, including an impressive new Tango espresso machine built for the office crowd (super-automatic micro-foam is a real thing and it’s really happening, folks). Sauro Dall’Aglio, Coffee and Cocktail Trainer and 2008 Italian Cup Tasters Champion, pulled shots off of the new SIC Single Shot basket – one of the very first convex filter baskets we’ve ever seen. And crowds were buzzing around the debut of UNIC’s patented Dosamat system on Mahlkonig K30 grinders.

What’s a Dosamat? Glad you asked, mon frere.

And did we mention Sauro’s cocktails? This one is “The Lever Bomb”, and it was served at the daily cocktail hour at the UNIC booth. The Lever Bomb contains whiskey, Bailey’s, a double shot of espresso and Mandarin orange cream. It was, in a word we are daily trying to work into our website’s lexicon, absolutely #deloshes.
