Trust us: we’ve been there. It’s Halloween season, and you’re not *quite* sure how you want to get dressed up for the big night. The one thing you’re sure of? You want to express your love of coffee through the art of Halloween costumery.
Well, just in time for the 2024 Halloween moment, we’ve curated our expertise to provide you this incredible (and incredibly useful) list of helpful (and quite easy to put together) Halloween coffee costume suggestions. But that’s not all! We’ve also curated a very specific suggestion for popular online coffee content creator James Hoffmann—read on!
A 2024 Starbucks Employee
This one is easy as can be! All you need is a piece of cardboard, green and white paint, and a creeping sense of dread and ennui in the face of oppressive corporate working culture, and boom, you can go dressed up as a 2024 Starbucks employee.
Buzzy the Seed
Go dressed as Sprudge’s second favorite anthropomorphic coffee mascot! Dance, go on adventures, heck, even build your whole brand around it! What’s stopping you?
Dress Like An Espresso Machine
A cardboard box, a large paint pen, a little know-how, and you could go right ahead and craft yourself a homemade espresso machine costume. In fact, if someone does this, we’d love to feature you on Instagram—be sure to tag us!
A Mokapot, Why Not?
Now here’s a clever idea—dress like the iconic Italian moka pot! Just make sure you don’t overheat while you’re out on the town.
A Nice Big Cupping Spoon
Spoon costumes are plentiful—people love dressing like cutlery for some reason. All you need to do is widen the spread of your spoonable head, and voila, you’ve got a cupping spoon! Better get slurping!
And Now, A Very Special Suggestion
A few short nights ago, with great excitement and vigor, we clicked over from watching our favorite coffee YouTube star, James Hoffmann, to enjoy the adjudicatorial plaudits of our favorite British Bake Off judge, Prue Leith. Only then did it dawn on us with the force of a well-hucked Bakewell Tart that these two could go quite literally as each other for Halloween.
Prue Leith has been at the apex of British cookery for five decades; her surprisingly bawdy, deliciously dishy memoir will have you thinking quite differently about the kindly figure she casts in The Tent. Hoffmann, meanwhile, is a World Barista Champion, multiple Sprudgie Award winner, YouTube personality with more than two million followers, and subject of a glowing New York Times profile.
We think they make quite the compelling Halloween duo! James need only throw on a chunky novelty necklace; Prue might acquire some obscure brew method from eBay. And that’s Hallows’ Eve, sorted.
Whoever you are, wherever you haunt, we hope you’re set for a spooktacular Halloween this year. And we can’t wait to see your holiday coffee costumes! Make sure you tag us!
