In the past we’ve reported on their otherworldly Da Nang cafe and roasting space as well as their Ho Chi Minh City concept, which earned Finalist honors at the 2022 Sprudgie Awards. And now they are back with not just another gobsmacking cafe, but a whole new brand identity. Introducing XLIII Coffee.
Following aesthetic cues from their Ho Chi Minh City outpost, the new cafe features black-and-white monochrome design with verdant pops of color from plant life stationed all around the interior. It is simply a world-class cafe that must be seen to be believed. So let’s take a look inside the all-new cafe for the all-new named XLIII Coffee in Vietnam.

For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?
Wishing to create a larger and more sustainable coffee community, we strive to bring high-quality specialty coffee products with original values as the focus of exploitation. We source quality raw materials with maximum traceability, provide transparent and direct information to customers, operate based on ethics and responsibility, and transfer toward sustainability development.
XLIII Coffee transforms from the original brand: 43 Factory Coffee Roaster. We respect the achievements and values built since the beginning of the journey to discover the world of pure coffee and cherish the starting point of the first shop. On the journey ahead, XLIII Coffee continue to hold and maintain consistency in our overall activities, core values, and strategic direction.
Can you tell us a bit about the new space?
We are happy to inform you about XLIII Coffee’s new project: XLIII Coffee Shop Hoi An branch. With this project, we have much to share with you and the readers of Sprudge. XLIII Coffee Hoi An store was built and is officially open to welcome customers on August 18, 2023, at 326 Ly Thuong Kiet, Tan An Ward, City, Hoi An, Quang Nam, Vietnam.
This project is a gift to mark five years of the establishment and development of our brand, as well as a gratitude to customers for always accompanying and supporting XLIII Coffee during the past time. Despite bearing the new name XLIII Coffee, we are still firm with the inherent orientation and mission of the predecessor brand, 43 Factory Coffee Roaster.
We maintain our original coffee perspective and approach at this upcoming new store. The face-to-face system of coffee gives us an overview of how to create the best products, services, and experiences.
The design respects the status quo, balances the brand mark. Respecting the inherent value and original beauty, XLIII Coffee respects the current status of the premises. We choose the right renovation plan, respecting the status quo while maintaining the consistency of the brand.
XLIII Coffee Hoi An Ancient Town is designed in the familiar black-white tone with the highlight of balanced green trees and creates a simple but not boring space. The shop space is divided according to the needs: chatting, working, and discovering the process of creating a cup of coffee. In the middle of that streamlined, neutral space, coffee is the focus, and the person enjoying it is the most prominent touch.
Belonging to the high-class Almanity Hoi An Resort & Spa, XLIII Coffee is both a rendezvous for guests and a coffee stop for local coffee lovers.
What’s your approach to coffee?
Quality, transparency, and sustainability are the first factors in selecting XLIII Coffee’s raw materials. We are honored to work directly and independently with some of the world’s leading specialty coffee producers. Over the years, XLIII Coffee has deliberately kept its business small and focused on quality, consciously investing in a limited number of origins and trying to represent those coffee sources. This coffee is at the highest level, Sourcing the finest coffees from a select group of like-minded producers who share our values and commitment to quality.

With current machinery and equipment support, XLIII Coffee confidently has a coffee cup with quality assurance and multi-layered flavors.
How is your project considering sustainability?
Environmentally friendly from the minor things. XLIII Coffee Hoi An Ancient Town offers a relaxing and healing experience when designed with ample space and green trees. This architect’s style creates harmony, balance and minimizes the impact of the greenhouse effect. We use photosynthetic lighting systems to grow indoor plants.
In addition, the materials used for architectural construction are also environmentally friendly and are recycled to the maximum extent. The bar and table are manufactured with high-quality industrial pressed wood, not using natural wood to limit the environmental impact and not indirectly destroying the forest. All single chairs at the store are made from recycled microplastics with standard technology that ensures quality and durability over time.
The system of machinery and equipment is permanently installed in eco mode, making a single dose to save electricity and water for the extraction process. The filter preparation process is used high-quality filter paper and uncoated and reused coffee grounds to fertilize and take care of plants.
