The series kicks off today with a visit to Vietnam, where 43 Factory Coffee Roaster represents the absolutely bustling and very exciting modern coffee scene in Ho Chi Minh City. This cafe is an incredible concept, and we’re so excited to be profiling it. Build On ye build-outs! Build on… forever!

For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?
43 Factory Coffee Roaster is a roaster serving specialty coffee to customers who care about the taste of origin. With the continuous efforts of excellent farmers all around the world, we will experience the true taste of this fruit. Our slogan is TASTE THE ORIGIN – TASTE THE HAPPINESS.
Can you tell us a bit about the new space?
The 43 Factory Coffee Roaster product is different and original because everything is centered around coffee. We provide a variety of specialty coffee experiences with three methods of preparation: shot, filter, and milk base. This name does not the name that 43 Factory Coffee Roaster gives. It is a widely used original coffee experience and approach.
43 Factory Coffee Roaster does not deny the art of brewing methods. We approach coffee from a more straightforward perspective and aspect—taking the coffee as the center and balancing the proportions suitable for each type of bean used here. It is also a way to appreciate the pure beauty of each coffee bean, the growing area, and the farmers who have worked hard to take care of it.
For 43 Factory Coffee Roaster at Pasteur, Ho Chi Minh City, 43 Factory Coffee Roaster chooses a contrasting black and white color tone with the highlight of the terrarium model on the ground floor. The coffee experience spaces are also divided into corresponding needs: chat, work, or explore the process of making a cup of coffee. In the middle of that minimalist, neutral space, coffee is the focus, and the audience is the most prominent flavor.
What’s your approach to coffee?
With the orientation for the past four years and the orientation for the future, 43 Factory Coffee Roaster still maintains the perspective and approach of the original coffee. The face-to-face approach to coffee gives us a look and a way to create the best products, the best service, and the ultimate experience.
We choose a quality source of coffee beans that ensures three prerequisites and, includes:
– The Origin: varieties, taste, cultivation methods, preliminary processes, rating of 85 points or more on the SCA scale
– Sustainability: community values, contributions to the development of smallholder farmers or producers with high development orientation and trends
– Transparency: farming, processing, buying, and selling process, transparent and fair information for all processing stages. All customers are fully provided with price indexes to help customers know where the money goes: Paid for Farmer or Producer, FOB Price, and DDP Price.
After the selection and storage process, the coffee will be evaluated and selected with the right roasting profile to maintain and develop the intrinsic flavors. This process is carried out by the Product Development and Production department at the headquarters—43 Factory Coffee Roaster facility 1 (Lot 422 Ngo Thi Si, My An, Da Nang).
The roast level we use is extremely light. We ensure the coffee reaches the well-development threshold to best describe the original flavor of the growing regions, and fully exploit the unique character of each variety of coffee beans. Approaching coffee directly, we appreciate the nature of the growing area and the uniqueness of the coffee source, not the individual ego of the roastery or the brand. We hope customers have a new perspective and a complete experience with authentic coffee flavors.
Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?
With the support of current machinery and equipment, 43 Factory Coffee Roaster is confident of having guaranteed roasted coffee quality, uniform grain distribution, and precise extraction.
How is your project considering sustainability?
At 43 Factory Coffee Roaster, we offer a specialty coffee experience—more specifically, a taste journey from start to finish that focuses solely on the originality of the beans. All coffee information is always open and transparent to consumers. The core value of coffee beans is therefore always preserved and respected. Stepping into 43 Factory Coffee Roaster, a cup of coffee is not merely a drink. Still, everything you feel, from taste to aroma, can fully describe the characteristics of the growing area.
43 Factory Coffee Roaster always ensures and maintains a standard process in roasting and preparation methods. All done with meticulousness and dedication.
When choosing the type of coffee they want to experience, customers will be advised on the brewing method and the area of experience to suit their individual needs. In addition to the accompanying information tag that provides complete information about coffee (growing area, cultivation conditions, etc), roasting records, water records, and extraction rates according to each method.
Customers will also receive share a lot of topical information about the type of coffee they are enjoying receiving at the store.
What’s your hopeful target opening date/month?
Fortunately, with the efforts of the entire enthusiastic staff and the dedicated support of our partners, 43 Factory Coffee Roaster – 178A Pasteur, Ben Nghe, District 1, HCM has officially opened on April 28, 2022.
