Dayglow is a coffee shop and roaster that needs no introduction. The multi-time Sprudgie Award Finalist as well as a Design Award winner has been carrying the multi-roaster banner since their original Silverlake location opened in 2017. Since then, they’ve grown to locations in Chicago and Brooklyn as well as roasting their own to accompany their well-appointed global cadre of roasters.
With their latest cafe, Dayglow is returning to where it all started, to Los Angeles. The new Venice location, their fourth in the city, continues in the tradition for which the brand has come to be associated with. Think brightly colored cafes and filter-forward light roast coffee. It opened only last month, so let’s go check out the new Dayglow in Venice.

For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?
We’re a Los Angeles-based coffee brand serving in-house and internationally roasted coffees, specializing in signature coffee cocktail creations.
Can you tell us a bit about the new space?
A tall corner building that’s open air, a block from the beach. Features a secret door that leads to an ice cream cave from our sister brand, Awan.
What’s your approach to coffee?
We like to highlight a wide range of single origin, light roasted coffees across multiple brew methods. On the beverage side we aim to utilize coffee in multiple ways to make complex, non-alcoholic cocktails.
Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?
We’re keen to use Modbar and Mahlkönig grinders at all our cafes to show transparency in our service.
How is your project considering sustainability?
We use all aspects of each ingredient we use.
What’s your hopeful target opening date/month?
July 2025
Are you working with craftspeople, architects, and/or creatives that you’d like to mention?
