Big news for us here at Sprudge.com TransNational HQ: We’re beyond proud and excited to announce that we’ve been named an Official Media Partner of World Coffee Events, the governing body that puts on the World Barista Championship and other world-class specialty coffee shows.

For years we’ve served in an unofficial capacity at the WBC, exhaustively covering the competitors and documenting the culture of international specialty coffee, from Bogota to Vienna to London and all points between. It’s a professional dream for us to be recognized by WCE as an Official Media Partner, and it’ll mean bigger and better Sprudge coverage at upcoming WCE events.

Here’s more info on the WCE from their official website:

World Coffee Events (WCE) is an event management organization registered in Dublin, Ireland and founded by the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe and the Specialty Coffee Association of America.

WCE is the premier producer of events for the coffee community worldwide. Our mission is to develop events that engage the specialty coffee community and promote coffee excellence.  The current portfolio involves competition events such as the World Barista Championship, the World Cup Tasters Championship, the World Latte Art Championship, the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, the Cezve/Ibrik Championship, and the World Brewers Cup, as well as show features such as the Espresso Bar and the Brew Bar.

Our official arrangement with WCE means a lot of exciting stuff for us, but we’re especially pumped about the fact that for the second year in a row, we’ll be producing the introduction videos for all 6 of your WBC finalists. Check out our intro videos from last year’s WBC here!

The WCE is awesome, their shows are awesome, and we’re beyond thrilled to be an Official Media Partner. We can’t wait to bring you even better coverage from this year’s slate of WCE events, starting with the 2013 WBC in Melbourne, Australia.

Well and truly stoked!
