Coffee events are slowly coming back, and I could not be more excited. Big, small, tangentially-related to coffee, I love them all. And in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Gilly Brew Bar is putting a new spin on the coffee get together. With Bars Behind the Bar, Gilly has created an evening of poetry, music, and storytelling, and it’s all happening this Saturday!

Kicking off March 5th at The Mayor’s House, a community incubator inside Gilly, Bars Behind the Bar is a series of live events “that started behind the bar, literally,” per Gilly’s Instagram, where they would “invite our daily guests turned friends behind the bar” to “[share] stories through poetry, music, and more.” For the first edition, the Gilly crew has tapped Janette…ikz, a poet, singer, musician, and speaker to emcee the event with music provided by DJ Kidd Kreme.

Food will be provided by Chef Christopher Polk of The Mayor’s House with drinks provided by Gilly Brew Bar, who will be previewing some of their soon-to-be-released elixirs (both N/A and spiked!).

While the event is free to attend, General Admission and VIP tickets are available for purchase for $12 and $25, respectively. General admission tickets come with a drink of your choice, and the VIP comes with a drink, tapas dish, and reserved front row seating. Spiked elixirs are also available for purchase.

It gets going at 7:00pm on Saturday, March 5th, with the show beginning shortly thereafter at 8:00pm. To learn more, visit Gilly Brew Bar’s Instagram page, and to order tickets, visit the Bars Behind the Bar Eventbrite site.
