We’re excited to announce open registration for the next Barista Nation event, being held the weekend of July 25th-27th in Denver, Colorado at Galvanize (1062 Delaware St.). This will be our 8th event with Barista Nation, a globetrotting series of coffee lectures, presentations, and parties that’s been hosted in cities like Montreal, Paris, Portland, Los Angeles (twice!), Kansas City, San Francisco, Tokyo, and more.
Each Barista Nation event is themed, and for the Denver event it’s “The Start Up”, focused on strategies, survival tools, and honest advice for the next generation of coffee entrepreneurs. Participating speakers and presenters include Darrin Daniel of Allegro Coffee, Chris Schooley of Coffee Shrub, Brant Curtis of the Wilbur Curtis Company, Jacob Ellul-Blake of Pantechnicon Design, Brian Cornelsen of UNIC USA, and Sarah Allen of Barista Magazine, to name just a few. It’s a three day event, including a Friday night kick-off party presented by Huckleberry Roasters at Work And Class (2500 Larimer Street), and a Sunday “Boot Camp” instructional event hosted at Sweet Bloom Coffee, with instructors from Sweet Bloom, Commonwealth Coffee, Optipure, Black Black Coffee, and Two Rivers Coffee.
Registration for Barista Nation Denver is simple, but attendance is limited, so follow these prompts promptly:
1. Go to www.care.org.
2. Donate $10 to this worthwhile cause.
As part of the Barista Nation Saturday programming, Sprudge.com co-founder Jordan Michelman will present a talk called “The First 5 Years: Tips From A Coffee Media Start-up”, a candid look at highs and lows from a half-decade spent inside the Sprudge bunker. Come with questions for Mr. Michelman; all will be considered during what we hope to be a lively Q&A.
