Best Coffee Photograph of the Year
Statement: This photo shows a group of women in Sidama, Ethiopia working together to sort washed green coffee. These photos were taken at Daye Bensa at the Qonqana Station, known colloquially as “The Mother Station.” When taking this photo I wanted to highlight the women’s careful, and collaborative work with the coffee beans and showcase a small amount of the many times our coffee’s hand sorted before being exported. The photo also showcases the bright and creative fashion we witnessed all over the Sidama area. The images were taken during phase one of the “CxffeeBlack Barista Exchange Program.”
