This collection of vessels represents a thoughtful convergence of modern design and ergonomic functionality, tailored to enhance the user experience for individuals with a variety of physical limitations. Each design is purposefully crafted to offer joint protection, ease of use, and comfort, making them suitable for people with diverse needs.
Key Features of the Vessel Designs:
Ergonomic Shape: The vessels are designed to fit the natural contours of the hand, ensuring that fingers, wrists, and hands stay in a neutral, relaxed position. This reduces strain and promotes joint protection during use, making the vessels particularly beneficial for users with hand or wrist limitations.
Wide Opening and Slow Flow: The wide opening of the vessels is ideal for individuals with limited neck mobility, as it allows for easier drinking. The curved bowl shape slows down the flow of liquid, and the slight lip on the edge helps minimize spills, offering better control over the contents.
Double-Walled Construction: This feature not only increases the durability of the vessels but also ensures that the exterior does not become too hot to handle. This is critical as users rely on cupping the vessel in their hands or resting their wrist against the side for stability, making it a safer and more comfortable experience.
Open-Ended and Flanged Handle Designs: Two of the vessel designs feature an open-ended handle, replacing the traditional handle to allow more freedom and comfort for the hand and wrist. The other two designs incorporate a flange concept, which provides support for the thumb and hand to lift against, further enhancing comfort and stability. These features work together to reduce pressure on the joints and allow users to grip the vessel with minimal effort.
Helve Grip: This design curves over the back of the hand with the fingers wrapping around the body of the cup, allowing it to hang from the hand. It’s ideal for users with grip strength and hand mobility issues.
Duo Grip: For users with severe hand limitations, the duo grip can be hooked onto the arm at the base of the wrist, securing the cup in place without requiring finger dexterity.
Ambi Grip is versatile and can be used with either hand,
Flange Grip is specifically tailored as a hand use specific cup.
Intuitive Grasping Motion: The motion of gripping the vessel is designed to mimic the natural act of extending the hand for a handshake, which is both intuitive and comfortable. This natural gesture makes it easier for users to take hold of the cup without unnecessary strain.
Forearm-Driven Lifting: Lifting the vessel to the lips is designed to engage the forearm more than the wrist, which minimizes wrist strain. This encourages the forearm, wrist, and hand to work as a unified system, promoting a more natural and efficient lifting motion.
Inclusive, Accessible Design:
These vessels embrace an inclusive approach to design, ensuring that they are not only functional and comfortable for a wide range of users but also aesthetically modern. The integration of ergonomic principles with contemporary design elements allows individuals with various physical conditions to enjoy the experience of using the vessel with greater ease and reduced discomfort. Whether for someone with limited dexterity, reduced grip strength, or specific joint concerns, these vessels offer solutions that make everyday use more accessible.
This collection is a perfect example of a forward-thinking design that prioritizes both usability and comfort. They address specific needs of users while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and modern look.
