Design Inclusivity Award Finalist
This is a tribute to the women who produce, process, design and prepare one of the best coffees in the world, Colombian coffee. With the dedication and hard work a woman builds a home, a specialty coffee cup is also achieved.
Since 2022 we have been working alongside with women of El Retiro, Antioquia in a project called “Luna En Verde”. Recognizing not only the hard work of women on the coffee farms but also their achievements regarding administration, design, brewing and sales. – In these two years “Luna En Verde” has had its own coffee line and projects such as “Vivero Luna en Verde” in which women grow coffee seeds and native trees in our region and promote specialty coffee production. Also projects to improve tourism and proper administration of their family business.
Over these past two years the Luna en Verde coffee has grown in the hearts of our consumers. To call women by their name, show their picture and give more information about their stories has generated a beautiful approach between client and producer.
So with this new package released on October 2024 we wanted to take it to the next level. Embrace and celebrate women and our terroir: El Retiro. A bag full of colors celebrating our flora, flavours, aromas and bigger portraits of these marvelous women with their head high proud of their land, their work and their families.
Doña Marina, Martha Dolly, Dora and Consuelo are the main characters of this line. Our goal is to always show the face of the producer and give all credit to the farm, process and variety. They are a group but each one of them stands out with a color label and of course, her name. Clients can know more of their stories on our web page and in our coffee shop in El Retiro their coffee is selected throughout the year as coffee of the week.
It was designed in house by Elisa and Amalia who are also Luna en Verde women in the design and sales area and made entirely in Colombia. We hope in the years to come we have more women proud to smile representing their land and work and travel with fresh Colombian coffee all around the world.
