September is oh so close, and we are chug-chug-chugging our way toward fall. Even as cooler weather is imminent, the Build-Outs of Coffee, our annual summer series highlighting new cafes the world over, is nearing its end. But we want to finish it out strong. That’s why we are putting out a last call for submissions for the 2024 Build-Outs of Coffee. If you have a cafe you want featured this year, you have until Monday, September 9th to submit yours.

It’s been a big year of Builds here in 2024. I haven’t crunched the numbers just yet—but that will certainly happen in due time—but this may be the biggest year to date. We definitely want it to be, and that’s where we need your help.
We’re accepting build-out submissions for new cafes that opened at any point in 2024. We are also accepting submissions for cafes presently under construction, with plans to open at any point in 2024. Entries are welcome from any corner of the earth, big cities and small towns, mobile units and bricks-and-mortars, and all point in-between.

It’s been a globetrotting 2024 for the Build-Outs of Coffee. Japan, the UK, Turkey, France, Canada, and those are just the ones we’ve published. We still have a few more international entries to go alongside our cadre of US-based features still to run.
Submissions are now open—consider this your open call to be featured in the 2024 Build-Outs of Coffee series. This year we’re looking for the following:
- New cafes under construction in 2024
- Cafe remodels that will be completed in 2024
- Tiny new cafes built on zero budget
- Expansive new cafes that push coffee design concepts forward
- Coffee bars considering sustainability and environmental impact
- Cafes from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Antarctica (especially Antarctica) are eligible. We’d also gladly welcome any keen fit-outs from Australia and New Zealand.
But you have to act fast if you want to be included this year. The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 9th. Submit your cafe now to be part of the 2024 Build-Outs of Coffee.
