Minimal intervention wine is slowly finding footing in Dallas, thanks in no small part to Bar & Garden (previously featured here on Sprudge Wine). If you happen to find a splash of Populis at a Metroplex restaurant or cafe, it is because they either got it directly from B&G or were introduced to it by B&G. As a denizen of the Big D, it pleases me greatly. And Bar & Garden continues to bring awareness to lo-fi wines, this time by hosting a tasting of Hiyu Wines led by none other than Nate Ready himself.
Half of the team behind Hiyu Wine Farm, the vineyard and organic farm in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge (featured here on Sprudge Wine), Ready is a Master Sommelier and will be leading an in-store tasting of some of Hiyu’s newest offerings. Taking place Monday, February 12th from 5:30 to 7:30pm, the tasting will be the first time Hiyu Wines have found their way to the Lone Star State. Expect pours from of Hiyu’s Ramato White Wine, the Oak Ridge Pinot Noir and one of the Spring Ephemeral offerings from Hiyu’s Smockshop Band label, as well as the Floréal Cider, Hiyu’s collaboration with Mt. Hood Organic Farm.
And the best part is, the tasting is free! No RSVP is required, but Bar & Garden would appreciate a headcount, so if you plan on attending, give them a call (214-774-9620) and let them know. Then taste some of the coolest wines out of Oregon to make it this far South.
