Dates and location information for the 2015 Big Western Regional Barista Competition have been officially confirmed by the Specialty Coffee Association of America, in a series of updates made to USCoffeeChampionships.org web pages in the last 24 hours. The event will take place in Rancho Mirage, CA at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas resort October 7th through 10th. That’s only a little over two months from now, so if you’re planning on competing in the 2015 Northwest or Southwest region in the Barista Competition or Brewers Cup, it’s time to get practicing!
The event will be brought to you by sponsors Wilbur Curtis and Portola Coffee Lab, who return as Big Western sponsors for the second consecutive year. For the first time, the competition will take place at the same time and place as a Barista Guild of America Barista Camp event, with this year’s Fall camp happening October 6th-9th, also at the Las Palmas resort.

Registration for the 2015 Big Western opens Monday, August 11th (one week from today). Big Western will be the first of three events in the 2015 United States Barista Championship competition season. As first reported by Sprudge, the 2015 Big Central happens November 7th-9th in Minneapolis, hosted by Cafe Imports.
