Sprudge is organizing a nationwide fundraiser benefitting the ACLU, taking place in American coffee bars from Friday, February 3rd until Sunday, February 5th. This effort will present the coffee bar as an activated space to raise funds for the ACLU — the clear heroes challenging current and forthcoming unamerican, unconstitutional executive orders through the judicial branch of our government.
The world is watching us. Stand up and help raise funds with your fellow coffee professionals.
Coffee bars around the country will raise funds in their cafes from February 3rd until February 5th. You can do this however you see fit — we are not here to dictate methods, as you know your own cafes & systems far better than we ever could. Some folks will be putting an extra jar out on the counter; others might donate 5% of brewed coffee sales, or some other portion of sales proceeds over those dates. We don’t really care how you do it, we just want your cafes to be a space to send people to help raise ACLU funds.
At the end of the weekend, your company will make its own tax deductable donation to the ACLU Foundation. We never handle your money. You make your own tax deductable donation, then self-report that amount to us so we can tally a total for funds raised. Together we tally a total.
We are currently seeking corporate partners to match donations — Sprudge signed up to match the first $500 raised by each of the first 25 companies, but the response has been overwhelming, and there’s more matching need than we could possibly supply. Our hope is to have every participating cafe receiving corporate match before the end of the weekend, and we’re working phones now to make that happen.
Sprudge will be strongly promoting this collective effort over the coming week, and plan on calling in PR favors to amplify the action. We suggest that you consider doing the same — if your brand has a media team please put them in touch with us directly. The more voice and lift we can give this the better.
