Welcome to the second annual Sprudge Design Awards, a new global awards platform honoring the best in coffee design. With a focus on original packaging design, products, and coffee art, these awards champion truly outstanding work by creatives and coffee companies, bridging the gap between coffee and art.
After a remarkable 2023 debut, with dozens of finalists worldwide and a truly outstanding crew of winners, we’re thrilled to bring the awards back for 2024. You can explore so much more about the awards right here at the official Sprudge Design Awards website.
2023 winners include brands like Daydrink, Ritual Coffee Roasters, Solberg & Hansen, Verve Coffee Roasters, La Marzocco, PERC Coffee Roasters, Cat & Cloud, Mr. Espresso, Kahawa 1893, and many, many more.
Public submissions are now open for the 2024 Sprudge Design Awards. The entry deadline is October 11th, 2024. Visit the Submissions page to get started, and check out the FAQ for any questions along the way.

Following an open nomination period, public voting opens in October, and winners in each category will be announced in November 2024.

| Best Coffee Photograph Of The Year | This award honors the most captivating and evocative coffee photograph of the year. We seek photographs that tell a story, evoke emotion, or simply showcase the beauty of coffee. Professional photographers, hobbyists, and coffee enthusiasts are all encouraged to submit their best coffee-themed photographs for consideration. |
| Best Home Coffee Design Of The Year | This award recognizes the most exceptional and thoughtfully designed home coffee setups. We’re looking for spaces that not only showcase a passion for coffee but also seamlessly integrate brewing equipment and accessories into the overall aesthetic of the home. Individuals, interior designers, and coffee enthusiasts who have created a dedicated coffee space for a residence are eligible for consideration. Entry fee waived for this category! | Design Inclusivity Award | Design work — including cafe design, web design, additional forms of media as well as physical packaging — that prioritizes accessibility and inclusivity while combating ableism, ensuring coffee culture can be enjoyed by all. | Outstanding Design Achievement: Café/Roasting Facility | This award celebrates cafes and roasting spaces that exemplify exceptional architectural and interior design, fostering an inviting and aesthetically pleasing environment for coffee lovers. Consideration will be given to spaces that seamlessly blend functionality with innovative design elements, creating a unique and memorable coffee experience. |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Commercial Product | This award honors outstanding design related to commercial products. This includes packaging for green coffee, alternative milks, traditional milks, sauces and syrups, water treatment and cleaning products, and other forms of commercial products that serve the field of coffee. |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Event Exhibition | This award honors outstanding design related to physical event exhibitions. This includes trade show booth design, pop-up cafe design, curated coffee service at special events, limited edition event appearances, live guerrilla coffee theater and all other forms of coffee event exhibition. |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Goods and Garments | This award honors outstanding design pertaining to promotional goods in the coffee industry. T-shirts, hats, pennants, coasters, aprons, socks, writing implements, spoons, charms, or any other form of merchandise designed to promote and support the enjoyment of coffee is eligible for consideration. |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Menu Design | This award celebrates cafes, restaurants, and coffee companies that have created a menu that is informative and thoughtfully designed. We are looking for menus that enhance the overall coffee experience, showcasing creativity, originality, and attention to detail. |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Pastry | This award honors pastry presentation, display, service, and overall pastry appreciation. We seek creations that dazzle with their innovative shapes, textures, and colors. Innovative pastry case design and delicious pastry services are also welcome! |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Print Materials | This award honors outstanding design pertaining to print materials. Printed menus, posters, one-sheets, handbooks, zines, magazines, flyers, and other forms of printed material are eligible for consideration. |
| Outstanding Design Achievement: Vessels | This award honors outstanding design of mugs, travel tumblers, demitasse, or any form of vessel out of which coffee can be served. Vessels must be available for purchase, used in a cafe, or otherwise offered for public use. |
| Outstanding Design Agency | This award honors outstanding design and artistic contributions of an independent design agency to the field of design within the scope of the coffee industry. Any genre of coffee industry adjacent product is eligible for consideration. |
| Outstanding Design Collaboration | This award will be given to the best brand collaboration project involving at least two entities. Any genre of coffee product, artwork, or creative collaboration is eligible for consideration. |
| Outstanding Designer | This award honors an outstanding individual designer working in the field of coffee. Their work can include packaging design, original illustration, digital design, event design, or other stirring examples of design as it intersects with the coffee world. |
| Outstanding E-Commerce/Web Site | This award honors companies exhibiting outstanding curation and attention to design detail on their websites or e-commerce platforms. Coffee roasters, cafes, coffee product manufacturers, equipment suppliers, distributors, and coffee industry purveyors are eligible for consideration. |
| Outstanding In-House Design Team | This award honors an in-house design team’s outstanding design and artistic contributions. Any genre of product in the scope of the wider coffee industry is eligible for consideration. |
| Outstanding Packaging: Equipment/Non-consumable Products | This award honors the company that has demonstrated excellence in the design and functionality of their packaging for coffee equipment or non-consumable products. We seek beautifully designed packaging that elevates the unboxing experience. |
| Outstanding Packaging: Flavoring/Syrup | This award honors the company that has demonstrated excellence in the design and functionality of their packaging for coffee flavoring products. |
| Outstanding Packaging: Food/Consumable Product | This award honors the company that has demonstrated excellence in the design and functionality of their packaging for coffee-related food or consumable products. We seek packaging that not only preserves the freshness and quality of the product but also entices consumers with its creativity. |
| Outstanding Packaging: Milk/Alternative Milk/Creamer | This award celebrates outstanding packaging in the milk, alternative milk, and creamer category. We’re looking for packaging that goes beyond mere functionality, showcasing innovation, eco-consciousness, and a captivating design that commands attention on the shelf. |
| Outstanding Packaging: Ready To Drink | This award honors outstanding design in the field of ready-to-drink coffee/coffee-adjacent products, including canned and bottled cold brew, teas, coffee beer. Considerations include original label art, descriptive text, and physical presentation. |
| Outstanding Packaging: Seasonal or Limited Edition | This award honors outstanding design for any seasonal or limited edition product, including holiday blends, limited edition seasonal offerings, or other featured small production designs. |
